Ten individuals sentenced of digital abuse directed at Brigitte Macron

A French judicial body has convicted ten people for engaging in the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the partner of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.

The accused individuals faced accusations of spreading untruths regarding her gender identity and sexuality, in addition to making malicious remarks about the husband and wife's age disparity of 24 years.

The court delivered suspended jail terms of as much as eight months to the perpetrators. The detailed judgment has still to be made public.

A persistent unfounded claim suggesting that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has spread widely since her husband's initial election in 2017.

This Monday's court decision in France comes as the Macrons initiating a defamation lawsuit in the United States of America against right-wing influencer Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's gender.

Their lawsuit contends that Owens ignored all credible evidence contradicting her allegations opting to give a platform to established defamers.

Owens has often echoed these claims on her podcast and social media channels, and in March 2024 proclaimed that she would bet her whole career on her belief that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.

Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her current spouse when she taught at his lycée.

The pair married in 2007, when the future French president was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
