The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Fighters Table

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, fiends, and dark forces increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of heroes who will separate from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Dividing the Cast

Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.

Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.

The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
  • Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
  • The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the group reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:

  • Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.

This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

According to episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to form the Explorers and Strategists tables.

Audiences can look forward to learning which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
